Christmas Wedding Inspiration

I just love a Christmas wedding, it’s definitely become more of a ‘thing’ than back when we were getting married (15 years ago!).  I never really gave it a thought back then, now however, I totally would!  It’s such a magical time, maybe that comes with having kids but I love it more and more every year.

There are so many lovely ideas for planning a Christmas wedding and I thought I would put together some of my favourites in a blog.  Even if you aren’t planning a wedding, some of these are great for your own Christmas dinner table/decor.

For me there is nothing more dreamy and Christmassy than candlelight!  As long as your venue allows the real thing, I think it’s a must for a Christmas wedding, the most romantic lighting you can get, although maybe that’s the “Hyacinth” in me!  If you don’t know who Hyacinth is then are you even old enough to get married?!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I love these pine-cone place cards  – so simple but so effective and lets face it, they won’t break the bank!  You can really put your own stamp on your day without it costing a fortune!  Another great idea is to combine your favours with your place cards!  I made these little candy cane place settings for my Christmas Table a couple of years ago and they went down a treat!

‘Tis the Season

When it comes to choosing colours I would find it a really tough decision, do you go with cool tones, or warm?  Either way there have got to be berries in your bouquet!!  I have seen so many stunning bouquets in lots of different shapes and styles and I love them all.  Good luck with that decision!

Snow is Glistening

Of course no wedding is complete without a cake!  It’s totally possible to tie your whole theme together by adding fresh flowers and berries to your cake.  Here is one of our Christmas themed cakes along side another recent cake with burgundy and gold which for me works for either Autumn or Christmas.

TO HAVE and TO HOLD incase you GET COLD!

Love this idea of keeping your guests warm, choose blankets in your colour scheme and even use them in your photographs.

BABY it’s COLD outside!

Talk to your venue about an arrival drink station – my choice would be mulled wine but hot apple cider is also great or even hot chocolate for those who want something a little less strong!
