Jessica & Chris – One year on!
I caught up with our lovely bride, Jessica one year on from her wedding and she still loves talking about her special day, it was just so perfect!
How did Chris propose?
We got engaged at Mount Stewart National Park after being together for four years! I was so surprised, I had no idea it was going to happen! Mum and Dad did though and by the time we got to their house the Champagne was already in the fridge!
How did you decide on the venue?
I have always loved Galgorm Resort and knew from the start that’s where I wanted to get married, the venue and grounds are amazing! We chose the Renaissance Suite as it looks over the river and is young and modern!
The dress? Tell me about it!
I have always loved all things sparkly and glittery, therefore I knew I wanted to incorporate this into my wedding, including my dress! On day two of shopping I found my dress in Logan’s Bridal and knew as soon as I put it on that it was “the” dress! The sequins and scalloped hem were just perfect! All my fittings were carried out in Logan’s as well so it meant I didn’t have to find a dress maker to alter the dress!
Tell me a bit about the suppliers you worked with and how you chose them?
I decided to go with the suppliers recommended by Galgorm for my photographer, flowers and cake. These suppliers have worked with Galgorm for a while so I knew they would be the best and they did not disappoint!
Photographer: Kris Dickson
Florist: Sally’s Florist, Ballymena
Cake: Gemma’s Cakes
I loved our cake with a middle tier of sparkles! I would definitely recommend the maltesers layer for any chocolate lovers! Sally had it decorated to perfection with fresh flowers!
Who provided your entertainment?
We had Tim Johnston play an acoustic set for cocktails and canapés. Then the Motown Brothers played during our meal and between setting up. For the evening we had a band called Smooth Criminals who also provided a DJ! We had everything from Motown in the afternoon to pop music at night so there was something for everyone.
Hair: Hair by Kathryn Wilson

Stationery: The White Letter
If you could give our Brides and Grooms one tip what would it be?
Enjoy the planning and don’t stress, it will all come together in the end!
